Jones of Oswestry Provides Foundation for Greener Town Centre
August 2009
Jones of Oswestry has won a contract to supply its Arborslot tree surrounds for a comprehensive town centre improvement scheme in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.
Phase 3 of the scheme, a £1.8million programme of improvement works is now underway and includes resurfacing of roads and footways, widening of pavement widths, an upgrade of paviors, increased parking, traffic management improvements and enhancements to the appearance of approaches to the town centre.
The latter includes the planting of a number of trees hence the need for a tree surround system supplied through Fountains, a long standing customer and the main contractor.
Arborslot has been highly praised by many local authorities and landscape architects for its aesthetic appeal, ability to meet DDA requirements and not least its capacity to ensure maximum tree health for many years.
Arborslot units are designed to support a vehicle load without transmitting any of the weight to the root ball of the tree. In conjunction with Jones of Oswestry’s Rootbox, Arborslot will ensure the tree flourishes without disturbing paviors or street furniture.
Manufactured to a clients bespoke specification and design, Arborslot accepts block pavior and slab in-fill to ensure the overall design integrity of the scheme remains consistent. It is available in a range of sizes to suit specific site requirements and tray depths to suit specific infill thicknesses with their respective bedding.
