About this deal

I apologise for emphasising old in this review, but you all know what I mean, it's a way of describing frags that many understand, politics aside. It starts off quite strong with plenty of projection filling the air, and it wears off over the next few hours, but you can still catch whiffs of it off your skin during the next four hours without needing to bring your elbow to your nose. There is a discernible smokey incense note as well as a lotion note in this which makes this perfume unique - not run of the mill. The only reason why it's kind of disappointing for me is because I sampled this hoping it would be a rose dominant frag.

Some people may find the powdery nuance headache inducing, however, or the sweet and almond cloying. I have to admit I never wanted to try Elizabeth Taylor fragrances because I thought they were going to be to screechy, loud and harsh. Now in defense of this I think it smells better on me in cold weather, and I happen to live in Florida.this is my second time wearing this fragrance and looks like I've come to same conclusion on both occassions, which is. Diamonds and rubies stands on its own and there will never be a substitute for the wonderful Nahema for me. In this glistening world of bright white I'm enveloped in red velvet as wafts of Diamonds and Rubies rise from my neck and scarf to my frost chilled nose. Grojsman’s creation Lancôme Trésor shares a similar fuzziness, but I find Diamonds and Rubies to be much more comfortable to wear than Trésor. The sandalwood and musk s probably giving everything that perfect strength and longevity and absolute class.

For some reason it reminded me of my aunt's bathroom from the 1970's and I could never get past that. The alcohol synthetic smell is starting to dissipate but the spices are so overwhelming I can't smell anything else.Though I am generally not a fan of designer scents, however the ET ones stand out as one of the better. But mostly it is quintessential Sophia Grojsman; this is SO in her style of rich, romantic oriental fragrances with peach, spice, and rose.

This is a "50's femme fatale" scent, glamorous and larger than life in the old Hollywood kind of way.I really like diamonds and rubies, I agree with the reviewer comparing it with tresor, that is, mixing the original fragrance with tresor's peach notes and a bit of a powder note in it as well. It's definitely the way it is described-warm spicy, and I get a fruity/peachy scent, along with a lot of powder. Someone mentioned Tresor (which I also love) and I will throw in Spellbound as perfumes that this is similar to. I have no idea why I purchased Diamonds and Rubies, as I do not care for floral oriental fragrances; however, I could not resist a bargain, so I picked it up. This is so popular that I often hesitate to wear this because I don't want to smell like someone that other people know, I really want to have more of an individualized scent.

Be warned that anything made by "House of Taylor" is inferior to the original high-quality fragrance made by "EA Fragrances Co.ceaidetei -- I think I must be as sensitive to the chemicals in this as you are insensitive: I just sprayed a tiny bit on my wrist, and it just won't be through lobbing whiffs at me! Brought to mind when me and me auld man were courting, deep, smooth, sensational, long lasting and big in sillage. This is very similar to Estee Lauder's Youth Dew - which was one of my mother's very favorite perfumes. I love this exotic spicy floral, but it will not go over with the crowd who leans toward marshmallows and pralines. A spicy peachy-rose that oddly reminds me of the smell of Anna Sui nail polishes (I'm serious about this - I can't seem to find people talking about this but I swear Anna Sui scents her nail polishes with something extra).
