About this deal

Now that I’ve found the “winner” for color matching the faucets in our bathroom (European Gold this time) to use on our bathroom vanity and a couple of exposed shelving screws, we are one step closer to being finished with the bathroom renovation! I was still able to see how the colors looked though, and that was really my main goal in this little experiment, so I can refer back to it in future projects.

In my case, I’m redoing my guest bedroom and wanted to change out some of the black and bronze colors to a beautiful, antique gold. Yes, there are tutorials about taking gold spray paint and adding dabs of black to age it, but that requires a lot of effort, skill, and a place to spray paint! Spray primer — Only required for objects that will be handled, or for better adhesion on slick surfaces. You can experiment with the patina effect and go for more contrast by letting the base coat show through, or a subtler look by adding more layers of gold (including multiple colors, if you choose).

If you’ve already done that, your item hasn’t arrived, or it’s not as described, you can report that to Etsy by opening a case. Since I wanted the look of antique brass, I first purchased Antique Brass Rub n Buff (makes sense, right?

I was positive this post had no application in my life but now I'm looking around to finds ways to incorporate this! I found that the spray paint will also “grab” onto the Rub ‘n Buff and make it adhere to the surface very well.To reduce the risk of fire, never leave vintage electrical or electronic products plugged in unattended. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

The Harris family owners and staff of Gordon Harris are extremely proud that their business has not only survived four decades but grown from humble beginnings to become NZ’s largest and best known art supplies specialist. Amaco’s Rub 'n Buff Metallic Finishes are great for adding finishing touches to wood, plaster, pottery, metal, leather, or gessoed surfaces. Prep includes scuffing up the surface with fine steel wool or a sanding block, then using a good oil based spray primer. I want to make a mirror that is kind of just a grey/tan plastic wood grain finish look much more silvery (think tiara) and was wondering what would be the best product to use? Your brush must also be clean, dry, and dense enough with fine bristles (see my brush recommendation linked in the materials list at the top of the post). You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The smooth painted wood was by far the easiest to do and looked best when done, the raw wood absorbed it and required more product per coat, and on the plastic I thought it might not stick but once it dried it adhered well. At this point the brush had been sitting overnight with the Rub ‘n Buff dried on (I forgot to wash it out) so it wasn’t going on as smoothly, and even buffing parts of the first layer off. Our product range has grown over the years too and includes many famous international brands from the world of art and design materials as well as lower cost items. Like you said, it is perfect for bringing out details and for adding a touch of glam here and there.

I have tried unsuccessfully so far to make RubnBuff stick to metal items…it seems to stick for a minute but then once you buff it buffs right off…Ive tried leaving for a few days and reapplying and it just goes thick and claggy and once again rubs off. So, I have a frameless mirror on the wall in my living room and I bought some molding to frame it out.I’d use a couple layers of some type of top coat over it and am not sure it would hold up to the heavy use of a seat… but the legs should be fine.
