About this deal

That packaging itself is a set of nine dark Amaray cases, one for each season plus another for the bonus discs, with a hard slipcase and a cardboard belly-band slipover. The steelbooks themselfs are gorgeous and I love the art on them and the season theme cutout on the inside. The whole series was beautifully shot and looks stunning in 4k, it's a breath of fresh air after the dark ages streaming quality of NowTV. Even if you’re not an audiophile, the discs beautifully downscale to regular stereo and sound far better than the streamed version.

We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. And let’s not forget that one episode every season that’s perhaps one of the most shocking episodes ever to air on television, not to mention action packed. DISCLAIMER: This 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray review was judged and graded using the following 4K certified Ultra HD Premium television set found here and player here. There’s just an overwhelming sense of immersion throughout even in the CGI moments like when Daenerys is looking over a cliff at a sea of ships. Just scrolling through images for this article, I was reminded of how many incredible characters populated the Game of Thrones show throughout the years. Another problem was that Season Seven was just seven episodes, rather than the usual ten, and Season Eight was only six.

Colors have been enriched too, but usually only to the extent that they look more natural; more like they would, in other words, if hit in the real world by the sort of increased amounts of light the HDR regrade has introduced.

The wide dynamics of the Dolby Atmos track virtually puts you in the middle of everything happening onscreen and changes with each subsequent moment never sounding fake, unpolished or generic.

Before we move onto unboxing things here I do want to provide you with URL links to each and every season of my coverage of this series (plus Sean Ferguson’s take on Season 1). As stated prior the above audio score and related critique of how things sound down below are based solely upon my viewings against a cumulative average curve of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentations of HBO’s Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection. Also, because the image was captured in 10-bit, and Ultra HD presents that bit depth fully, gone are the banding artifacts that were visible in the BD image (you notice this almost immediately after the opening credits in the first episode, as the banner-men from Winterfell capture the deserter from the Night’s Watch—when they ride over the hill, the banding visible in the sky in that scene is now gone).

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. In 4K Ultra HD the colour is now vibrant and the image is clean, crisp and detailed, unlike the washed out colours and pixelation you've probably seen when it was streamed. Now, for the first time ever, the entire series can be owned in 4K Ultra HD courtesy of Warner Bros. Now that we got that obligation out of the way what do you say we rip this humungous 4K box set open?
