About this deal

Also, is there a special method to dealing with the problem shots where the green tint darkened and took detail from the image?

The DVDs in the 2021 HMV BD boxset are the same as the 2011 extended BD boxset; 2x Appendices DVD per film + behind the scenes DVD per film.As with Part I, this is essentially a "down to the last detail" duplicate of The Appendices, Part 2: From Vision to Reality disc in the previous Extended Edition DVD release. It's a fairly straightforward box set, rising above others only by sake of its attractive design and individual cases, and there are few frills to speak of.

The tracks are extremely good, covering the making of these films from a number of angles often overlooked in commentaries, and in far greater detail too. The latter two films in the series had their problems, sure, but nowhere near the scale of 'Fellowship. The sweeping shot as King Théoden and his Rohirrim charge the advancing line of Mûmakil on the fields of Pelennor looks almost three-dimensional. So, sadly, what may be the finest long cut of the trilogy is (there is no may be's or possibly's here) the weakest visually, with completely unnecessary little "fixes" that don't quite fix anything. I also got a bit tired of the constant contrast between the wonderfully vivid, colorful moments and those that are obviously afflicted by some excessive color change stigma.

For the week that ended on March 20th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Croods: A New Age topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts for the fourth week in a row, with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Monster Hunter coming in second . Soon, the Fellowship is broken, and while the other members fight off the evil spreading through Middle-earth, Frodo and his friend Samwise must continue their dangerous mission, with a guide they cannot trust, toward the fires of Mount Doom as the final battle for Middle-earth begins.

These Appendices discs are essentially identical to the discs included in the 4-disc DVD sets, right down to the menus and all features. This fan's favorite literary giant became a fan favorite cinematic giant immediately, but will it be a gigantic Blu-ray system seller? The adventure continues with THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy when, with the help of the Fellowship of the Ring, Bilbo Baggin’s nephew, Frodo, embarks on a perilous mission to destroy the One Ring and defeat the Dark Lord Sauron and his forces. A journey that will cross the whole of Middle Earth, with every inhabitant affected by the crusade of the few, the proud, the Fellowship of the Ring. On DVD, these editions were released after the Theatrical Edition DVD release of each respective film, timed to coincide with the next film to bow in theaters (while the final Extended Edition release was then released in the same time period as it would have if there were a fourth film). From the long history of Tolkien's work to the development and pre-production of these film adaptations, on through years of production, post-production, scoring and the final theatrical release for each film - it's all here in great detail.
